Underwriting Analysis
• Analyze. We analyze claims (when available) and enrollment data from the health plans on an on-going
basis. We provide budget estimates, claims trend reports and periodic loss ratio studies.
• Advise. We advise our clients on appropriateness of plan designs, contributions, benefit and product
developments, cost control measures and other issues impacting our clients’ health plan.
• Negotiate. We assist in all renewal negotiations with the health plan(s).
• Educate. We provide information on alternatives in plan design, financial arrangements and advise our
clients on health care trends. We assist in the establishment of Health Care Advisory Committees, which
help to facilitate change by utilizing employee advocates.
• Strategic Planning. We provide budget estimates and expected renewal adjustment during the year based
upon available claim studies.
• Solicit. We will prepare a complete request for proposal bid to solicit competitive proposals from the
competing health plans. Our services include a full analysis of all responses and their appropriateness.
