WD & Assoociates is pleased to announce President Bill Delmage has been selected to serve a second term (2 years) on UnitedHealthcare’s National Advisory Board! Bill was one of the original board members United had selected when forming the national advisory board of top brokers. Bill will travel periodically to United Headquarters in Minnesota to discuss and debate on multiple health care issues such as policies and procedures, government & products. Bill is considered one of the state’s foremost experts on health care & benefits, and will continue to advocate for Rhode Islanders to receive quality & affordable health care.
On July 14th & 15th WD & Associates President William Delmage met with the camps of Rhode Island Senators Jack Reed, Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressman Patrick Kennedy and Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern in Washington D.C. The topic of debate was health care reform. Bill was in DC with many of the other top brokers from all over the country; all of whom met with their respected officials & voiced their opinion on the ongoing health care reform. There were over 400 meetings that took place within the two days. During Bill’s meetings with the elected officials of Rhode Island & Massachusetts he listened to each camp make their position on where the current state of health care reform is and their philosophies on how to fix the system. It was his job to then educate them on why health care is in the shape it’s in, why premiums are so high, and how to change it effectively without putting another tax on the American people. They respectively sparred in debates over cost, idea of a single payer system & how the federal government is going to accumulate the funds to pay for a government controlled insurance plan. Since then it seems that the fly in of the nation’s top brokers made some sort of an impact. The headlines coming from all the news outlets have been questions surrounding cost – how is the Government going to pay for thousands of procedures that will ultimately amount to billions of dollars worth in claims?
